Frame colour can subtly change the character of canvas wall art. The artwork stays the same, but the frame determines how strongly it contrasts with the wall and how it connects with the other materials in your room.

Light oak
Light oak is an easy choice for warm neutral, Scandinavian and Japandi-inspired interiors. It works particularly well alongside pale woods, cream upholstery and natural textures.
Dark oak
Dark oak adds warmth and definition without the sharper contrast of black. It can work beautifully with walnut furniture, deeper timber tones and earthy colour palettes.

Black
A black floating frame creates a crisp outline around the canvas. Use it when you want the artwork to stand out against a pale wall or when black details already appear elsewhere in the room.
White
White keeps the overall presentation light and understated. On a white or very pale wall it can allow the artwork itself to carry most of the visual weight.

Match the room, not every object
Your frame does not need to match every piece of furniture. Look instead for a finish that repeats one or two materials or accents already present in the space.
Our single framed canvases, canvas pairs and triptychs are available with a choice of floating frame finishes, making it easier to select the version that suits your room.
